 Grade-III of the Assam Judicial Service

 

          Applications are invited from the persons not more than 35 (thirty five) years of age in case of General candidates and 38 (thirty eight) years of age in case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates on the last date fixed for submission of applications, i.e., the fifteenth day from the date of publication of this advertisement, for appointment in 57 (fifty seven) vacant posts (Actual and Anticipated) in Grade-III of the Assam Judicial Service in the Scale of Pay of Rs.27700-770-33090-920-40450-1080-44770/- per month + other allowances as admissible under the Rules, so as to reach the undersigned on or before the fifteenth day from the date of publication of this advertisement. Belated and incomplete applications will not be entertained.

          Numbers of posts advertised include anticipated vacancies also and therefore, the actual vacancy position may vary. Mere selection would not per se entitle a candidate to claim appointment.

          A candidate must be a citizen of India as defined in Articles 5 & 6 of the Constitution of India. The candidate must be a Graduate in Law from any recognized University.

          The candidates shall have to appear in a Preliminary Written Examination of objective questions with multiple choice and successful candidates shall have to appear in a final written examination. Successful candidates in the final written examination shall be called for and Interview/Viva Voce. Candidates shall have to bear their own expenses for appearing in written examination/ Viva Voce.

          All candidates who obtain 60 (sixty) percent or more marks in the Written Test shall be eligible for Viva-Voce Examination. Provided that Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe candidates who obtain 50 (fifty) percent or more marks shall be eligible for Viva-Voce Examination.

          On selection, the candidates shall have to undergo Pre-Appointment Training as per Rules.

Candidates selected to undergo the training course will have to qualify in an examination to be conducted by the concerned institute/School/Academy, on completion of the course.

Reservation for candidates belonging to reserved categories will be made as per exiting Rules governing the recruitment. Beside other categories, 30% reservation of vacancies for the women, as per “The Assam Women (Reservation of Vacancies in Services and Posts) Act, 2005” and High Court Notification No.HC.VII-04/2009/980/A, dated 02.02.2009, will be made.

          A fresh recruit joining the service shall not be governed by the existing Assam Services (Pension) Rules, 1969 and orders issued there under from time to time. Their pension and other retirement benefit will be governed by “the new defined contributory Pension Scheme” of Government of Assam.
